Steve Lipovas, Golf Professional
Anglesea golf professional Steve Lipovas came to Anglesea with his young family 10 years ago as part of a lifestyle sea change and, he admits, he has never looked back. Not only does the laid-back country lifestyle suit Steve to a tee, but he also loves his work helping players improve their game and make their golfing dreams come true.
In fact, he says, there is one thing that he loves above all others about his work at Anglesea Golf Club – the rich and varied day-to-day interactions with his customers and staff.
“Whether it’s working on someone’s swing or walking around the golf course with a group, it’s the opportunity to meet and chat with people from all walks of life that makes this one of the best jobs in the world,” says Steve, who’s been a professional for almost two decades, spending his first eight years as a pro at courses in and around Melbourne including Rossdale, located in Melbourne’s bayside suburbs. Steve was also involved in running Melbourne’s Patterson River Golf Course.
Little wonder then that Steve is so highly regarded as a coach and professional. His personal approach and excellent people skills make him a perfect tutor whether for the highly skilled or the beginner. And that’s a standard that he passes on to those who work with him.
He manages a small team, who all follow Steve’s approach, providing customers with quality service and attention to detail.

The Anglesea Pro Shop is regarded as one of the best managed and serviced golf shops in the region with an emphasis on the latest techniques, technology, and gear. Steve also has Flightscope, golf’s revolutionary 21st Century coaching technology. This device is a portable launch monitor designed to help golfers improve performance. It uses 3D Doppler radar to track ball flight and improve your overall golf game.
Steve can hook you up to the very latest computer assisted golf analysis technology to fine tune your high-end game and aspirations, but he’s also just as happy to walk along side as you play through and offer some friendly advice, depending on what you want or need.

The shop runs a VIP Pro Shop membership program that helps to sponsor a village in an overseas country. Steve runs golf days during the year to help raise funds for the village. The shop also sponsors the McGrath Foundation, a charity organisation that raises funds to provide breast care nurses and support patients with breast cancer. Steve and his team and the club combine to hold a charity golf day to raise funds for them each year.
